    19th Century Grotesque
    Although San Serif letters can be found as early as Ancient Greek, it was only popularised in the late 19th Century Britain. The demand for rapid production and sensationalistic appeals were propelled by the pinnacle of industrial revolution.
    I traced back to the motivation, social contexts and production techniques of typographic manufacture in the Victorian period. To understand how forms are shaped by those aspects, I designed and produced a typeface that is in the spirit of the time.
